Token
Also known as: tokens
What is token?
A token is the unit of text a language model processes — roughly three-quarters of an English word. Model pricing, context limits and latency are all measured in tokens.
For rough estimates: 1,000 tokens is about 750 words. Cost per task equals input tokens plus output tokens at their respective rates, multiplied by task volume.
